Marty Baumann just forwarded me this beautiful piece of artwork which he has created for Mother Hen. I love it! . . . so peaceful and serene. He tells me that it is not completely finished yet and reserves the right to revise it . . . but I just wanted to give everyone a sneak peak.

I finally made it to a Linocut printmaking class at 3 Fish Studios in San Francisco, taught by Eric Rewitzer. The studio is housed in an industrial complex in Dogpatch, a cool name for a cool part of town - which reminded me a little of Vauxhall in London, so I felt very at home there. I decided to make a print based on a photo of my two daughters for the Mother Hen Project and arrived, armed with lots of reference which I had accumulated; examples included Elizabeth Catlett and Harry Everett Townsend. The day came and went in a heartbeat - I certainly found that creative zone and ended up making about 10 or so prints, on various different papers. One of my favourite parts of the day was browsing through their vintage books and papers. Anyway - I had a fabulous day - took home about 10 or so prints which I produced and I also bought a beautiful limited edition landscape which Eric had made of Yosemite Valley. Oh, btw - I didn't notice until this morning, that the paper I had chosen to print on made reference to the constellation Leo - Corinna was born on August 1st!!
