Daisuke “Dice” Tsutsumi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. In 1993, he moved to New York and enrolled at the School of Visual Arts. After graduating with a BFA in illustration, he became a staff illustrator at Lucas Learning Ltd. and then a visual development and color key artist for Blue Sky Studios working on Ice Age, Robots and Horton Hears A Who. Dice joined Pixar in 2007, where he continued to work as an Art Director on Toy Story 3 and Monsters University. Dice's art has been featured in numerous gallery exhibitions worldwide. He's published in Spectrum anthologies, his graphic novelas Noche Y Dia and The Dream of Kyosuke are included in both volumes of the critically acclaimed Out of Picture anthology, and Dice has also published a children's book called I Can Hear. Immensely talented as a painter Dice is just as talented at getting people together and unifying them under a common cause. He is the one of the main organizers of the hugely successful Totoro Forest Project and Sketchtravel fundraisers. In 2013 Dice and Robert Kondo made their directorial debut with The Dam Keeper which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and is being screened, celebrated and awarded in Film Festivals around the world. In 2014, Kondo & Tsutsumi left Pixar to launch a new venture called Tonko House. Dice - thank you so much for supporting The Mother Hen Project with this exquisite piece!
