Karen Kiser has been working at Pixar since the beginning of computer animation features. As an animator she is credited with working on Toy Story 1 and 2, A Bugs Life, For the Birds, Monsters Inc, Mike's New Car, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars and Ratatouille, as well as being a videographer for the 'University' and 'archives' departments at Pixar. Kiser graduated from CalArts BFA progam in 1985. Her student film 'Solitaire's Sanctuary' was screened and highly awarded at numerous film festivals including second prize at the “Hiroshima Love Peace International Film Festival", First prize at the “Nissan-Focus Student Film Competition" and many more. She is also an accomplished Irish musician and bird enthusiast, so it was not too difficult to ask Karen to create and donate one of her very individual rubber stamp art works to Mother Hen. Karen's 'other half' is a bloke by the name of Jeffrey Hickey who is an 'an author, composer, performing artist, teacher, coach, father of twins and arguably the happiest married man on the planet.' Together they have created a children's book called "Wages Creek" (with accompanying audio cd) which is a story about a unique camping trip experienced by Hickey, Kiser and their two sons. Many thanks to Karen and Jeffrey for their donations to The Mother Hen Project - a unique and original artwork, a signed copy of Wages Creek and an audio CD.
