Suzanne Long ~ 'Orphan'

In 1870, the first orphanage in California was built on the top of “Mortgage Hill” in Vallejo. Thousands of children lived in the orphanage until it closed in 1919. The artist Suzanne Long's home is now built on that same land. A graduate of Philadelphia’s Temple University Tyler School of Art,  Long studied illustration and graphic and worked as a freelancer in New York and San Francisco for 4 years  before making the transition to fine art and more specifically sculpture. Long's work is currently on show at ROOM gallery in Mill Valley and she has kindly donated one of her 'Orphans' to The Mother Hen Project.
